Plant ID

Chris789Chris789 Posts: 52

Does anyone know what this plant is called, it grows in a shady section of the garden and each of the last four years it's come up but never flowered. I need to decide what to do with it as it's started to grow through a Astrantia at the side of it, so it's either move it or throw it. I didn't plant it, maybe the previous owner did or it's weed from somewhere??

Thanks.

  • it looks like a Peruvian Lily, Alstroemeria. They can be distinguished by the 180 degree twist in the leaf stems, so what would normally be the top of the leaf is underneath.

@ Alan Clark2 - cool fact! I'm just reading about plant ovaries (re my post on Garden Gallery 2017) so more reading to do now! Every day is a school day!

My garden and I live in South Wales.
