Daphne odora - yellow leaves

I have my daphne odora in acidic clay soil. It's been beautiful this year but lower leaves are going yellow and dropping off. Its in full sun, next to front door. I was thinking of giving it a dose of Epsom Salts - is that wrong? I don't think it's had too much water, or too little. It's two years old. Any suggestions please. Thanks
