Salvia Amistad

I posted a few weeks ago about this same topic. My salvia (overwinterd in the garage) and replanted a few weeks ago is still showing no signs of life. Is there still time for it to appear or should I just put it on the compost bin. The weather has been quite mild here and they are planted in full sun.

The soil will still be cold. The first year I grew them, I left it in the soil. It took until June to start showing shoots at the base.(sunny well drained position) This year I have overwintered in the greenhouse, they are now in a polytunnel, but are only just growing. Plenty of time yet.  I found that overwintered cuttings that were planted out in June were in flower before the overwintered plants.

Thanks fidgetbones, that's reassuring as they are a focal point for the rest of my planting. At the moment everything else coming along nicely with just a big gap where the salvias should be. Let's hope it turns up late for the party and steals the show like last year!

Last year I had a wonderful show from three plants together. They grew to 6 ft and flowered until late October.  I intend getting a load of cuttings off this year.

I've got several amistad's in my garden. Those in a sheltered spot popped-up a week or so ago, but others are only just beginning to show. I find they're often late starters, but once they get going they really go for it
