We were at Wisley today as well Scroggin. Probably crossed paths without even realising. I particularly enjoyed the wildflower meadow in the trials area.

Mark - you and Scoggin have had a day in beautiful surroundings.

The wild flower meadow is stunning.

It looks wonderful, masses of flowers. We went a few years ago, it was June, but I don't think it was so colourful. Thank you for the photos.

Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.

Apologies, I just realise I should have put a link on here to the Kew Gardens visit. Six of us went last week and I started a new thread as the number of photos might have overwhelmed this thread: http://www.gardenersworld.com/forum/the-potting-shed/kew-gardens-visit-july-2017/1002443.html

Yesterday I went to Birmingham for the afternoon, with no plans to visit any gardens. I went to see the new (ish) Library of Birmingham, and while there unexpectedly found myself in a lovely 'Secret Garden' on the roof. It's open to the public, you just go up to the 7th floor of the library and follow the signs. There's also a rather nice roof terrace on the 3rd or 4th floor. But the Secret Garden is a proper garden, with some lovely planting, plentiful seating for quiet contemplation (or lunch eating!) and is quite large, spreading around two sides of that part of the building. Definitely worth a visit. The library itself is spectacularly gorgeous too.
