Need advice for newly planted tomato seeds
in Fruit & veg
Hello,
I threw a load of tomato seeds into tow pots and now have a mass of green shoots.
I know they are meant to be thinned out, but they are still only a few cms in height.
Should I thin them out now?
Thank you!

You prick them out when the two seed leaves are fully expanded. One plant to a 7 cm pot of compost. When the roots fill that pot, they can go in a larger pot. Hold the seedling by the seed leaf and not the stem. If you crush the stem it will die.
a good little video demonstrating here.

Prick them out when they have one pair of proper leaves above the seed leaves

Thanks too, fidgetbones!!
Before you do anything, decide how many plants you realistically need and take out the extras. Then proceed as above.
Thank you
