Dying Hydrangea
I have a Hydranger hedge about 30ft long and the middle section looks as if it is dying, the top and bottom section are healthy. Wondering if it could have accidentally had contact with weed killer. The hedge is about 50+ years old and has been beautiful. Any advice would be grateful.

Is this recent damage? A lot of healthy hydrangea bushes have been damaged by the icy blast from the north east we suffered a few days ago. Maybe the wind was funnelled past your hedge at just the right angle to damage the middle section? The frost damaged leaves do look as if they've been sprayed with something
Perhaps you could post a photo - click on the camera symbol to upload a picture - if it doesn't upload reducing the size usually works
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
Looks to as tho it may be frost damage. If it has been dry lately, try giving them a good drink as thirst can also affect leaves. A good handful of pelleted chicken manure or blood fish and bone per plant wouldn't hurt either.
Aha! The photo has appeared ... I've been having broadband problems and things are a bit slow here
Yes, it does look like the frost damage we've seen on other recent queries.

It is frost damage. Mine is exactly the same. I am waiting another week or so before I cut these off. The other thing to watch out for is lack of rain - they need water so this has compounded the problem.
Thank you everyone for your replies.Yes, it is recent only started at the week end. I will keep my fingers crossed that it will be ok, never had any problems in 32 years.
