Lavender soil

Hello!

I have ordered 38 English Lavender plants and have a ditch to fill with growing medium ideal to give the new plants stability and nutrition.  I read that they need very little love.  I need to start though - and add soil.

I have:  manure, chalk, old rubbish stony soil, topsoil, bark chippings here already

Do I need to order horticultural grit/sand?  What quality of each ideally?

I am over researching this!  It's a west facing long ditch in concrete with drainage stones and water can run off... it is an exposed site for NE and NW winds.

Any advice for me?  Thanks

Old rubbish stony soil sounds to cater to most of the lavender's needs. I'm gardening on clay so added a handful of grit to the planting hole. They thrive in very well drained & low nutrient soil

    No manure needed.
