Suitable topsoil for lawn dressing?

Hello - new gardener here. I laid some new turf last April which is, in general, taken quite well. However it is generally far thinner than our other more established lawn and there are some very obvious bare / thin patches.

I would like to overseed and topdress to help fill these in and also to help level out some of the dips & hollows.

However I am a bit lost on what type of soil. I recently ordered some topsoil in bags from Amazon and it didn't resemble soil in any way - it was more like very dry compost / cotton wool. so I am scared of doing this again.

I can get a good deal from Wicks on bagged topsoil right now (I'd get 20 bags), or am I better off just getting a 750kg bulk bag?

The area is approx 70sq meters.

Thanks!

I've had 22 ton of topsoil delivered for a project.
I got the 1st load from Silverton Aggregates - 20ton (loose load) was £500. The topsoil comes from a beet factory and is basically what they wash off the beets then it's dried and mixed with a proportion of sand. I can't fault the quality, it is fine and runs through your fingers and has no stones.

I got the additional 2 ton (2 bulk bags) from Oakley Turf - this also comes from the same source, but this company delivers smaller loads. The 2 ton was £140

It would be fine to use directly as it is for a top dressing. I had it to fill some raised beds, so incorporated 4ton of rotted manure

I bought my manure from CPA Horticulture. They also sell the same beet topsoil and have a calculator to work out how much you'll need -

Your lawn looks fine, just needs a bit a tlc and it'll be bowling green standard!

I agree with Pete8, from the picture it does not look too bad at all.  Water well if dry,  apply a liquid feed, mow regularly but do not set blades too low. It will soon thicken up.
