Which plant for shady container?
Help please!!
I've bought 6 stackable containers, as you can see in the picture. I want to put them in a very shady spot. I can't change the location as I have bought them to block cats ambushing my bird feeder! They will be sandwiched in between a fence and our house wall, on the north side of the house.
However, I have absolutely no idea what to plant in them! Preferably something that doesn't need much care as they will be on top of a wall so quite high up... Any suggestions would be appreciated!
Thanks in advance...

One idea I did have was lemon balm as I hear that grows in shade...? Does anyone know if that would work?

HOSTAS
Begonias. One trailing one in each segment so will tail down the planter and wall.
Happy in shade, can survive a bit of neglect and shallow rooted so ideal for containers.
Lobelia, fuchsias, begonias, impatiens will all tolerate shade. Trailing would be better so probably the first three.

Begonias sound good! I had no idea they like shade! Is any begonia ok or do I need certain varieties?
Just look for those sold as trailing and they will be fine.
if you have a wyevale garden centre near you have a look in there as last week they had 75% off their tubers. although a bit late to start tubers they will soon catch up.
Brilliant thanks so much!
