I bought this plant believing it to be a Royal Purple smoke bush, but now that the leaves have started to appear it doesn't look like one to me! The leaves are green for a start and don't have the rounded shape to them. Does anyone know what it is?
It's not Royal Purple for sure.
There are yellow leafed cotinus but I can't see that as one of them.
tbh it doesn't look a very happy specimen of whatever it is
So I was patient and waited to see how the plant would grow, and this is what it looks like now!
Well worth the wait. What a lovely bush and hopefully next year you'll start to get the flowers which create the 'smoke' effect
