Solid clay embankment

I have a wild garden after not completing a house build in the country. i have heavy clay soil and a steep embankment from a garden to high up woodland area. It is currently over run with grass and moss. I planted daffodils and they worked? Where do I start? Please help, I'm a complete beginner ????????

You don't say which way the embankment faces or what part of the country you are in.
No matter ... you need ideas of what sort of thing works in your sort of area and soil and what you like the look of. A good idea is to look around at what other people have done, visit gardens which are open to the public and talk to their owners/gardeners. I find gardens open through the National Garden Scheme (www.ngs.org.uk) very helpful as many of these are gardens built by people like you and me and a surprising number of them didn't know about gardening when they started!
