Used Thick black plastic for weed control
I have bought some heavy duty black plastic.
I wish to remove as many weeds as possible. Happily to leave it for 6 months covered up.
How do I go about it?
Do I need to use a weed killer first?
Thanks

Black plastic works by excluding all light which weeds can't grow without. Once down, weeds will simply die and rot away. All you really need to do is remove any woody weeds like bramble to prevent them piercing the plastic and find a way to hold the plastic down so the wind doesn't get under and lift it. You can use bricks and bury the edges of the sheet, for example. No need to use weedkiller.
