Mine is yellowing tooimage.  I thought that Soft Caress was a small mahonia, so would be ok in a pot, but seems I was wrong.  I'll see if I can find it garden space .....I want it to look like Ladybird4's image

It isn't too big as yet Chicky. You can get an idea of its size by looking at the Solomon's Seal that is growing through it.

Me too Chicky. Apologies for hijacking your thread Linda. Thanks ladybird. I'll find them a spot in the garden. I've nothing to lose.

i was just wondering how your mahonia caress's are doing? I planted mine in one place a couple of years ago, but it didn't flourish so I moved it to dappled shade and it's been really happy. This morning I noticed the tips of the leaves are yellowing so I've just given it a feed and watered it which I hope sort out the problem. i really love this plant and plan to buy a couple more. i like the jungly feel they give and have it planted with ferns

Mine are the same, planted in dappled shade. These are my first mahonias, maybe this is typical for them this time of year?

K67  it has new growth, but those yellow to brown tips aren’t going to spring back to green. i guess i’ll just keep giving it the love

Mine has new growth too so will see if they pick up. They went completely brown and shriveled the first year as I had them planted in the front and cold and north east winds weren't a good mix.
Replanted in back garden now and recovered so I expect they will again. They are expensive shrubs to replace and I don't really like them that much In the back garden it's a shame they couldn't thrive in the front as they looked good there.
