New leaves dying on laurel trees

I have several rows of laurels, planted at different times over the past four years. They have now all developed the same problem. As the new leaves start to appear they are turning brown and dying. What could be the cause of this?

We had a mild March, and everything started growing new leaves a bit early ... then we had some very cold winds and frosts just last week ... lots of new leaves have been damaged by the cold weather ... laurel is tough, it will recover and grow new ones.  image

I have loads of laurels in my garden and many of the new, emerging leaves also have brown, frost damaged tips. Usually they are so rampant they outgrow it and/or you can prune off any damage in late spring image
