who's poo?

I've found lots of this in my garden in the last few days and I'm petty sure the 'berries' are flower buds from my Cotoneaster horizontalis, I think that's what it's called anyway.

I've never seen any evidence of hedgehogs before, so am delighted if this is what it is.  I have been leaving cat food and water out at dusk since I found the poo, and it's usually gone in the morning, but of course anything could be eating it I know.  I think I'll have to look into providing a hedgehog feeding station as suggested.  Any good, easy ideas as to how best to do this?

Oh my, I didn't realise the poo's were quite that small image

Here's a guide, I face mine towards a wall or shed with a hedgehog cap space between the two. Stops the cats using their paws to drag the food out.

Thanks for the link Mark56. I'll have to give it a go as I'm never sure who's eaten it during the night and I know the magpies polish off anything left in the morning.image

Yes, thanks for the link Mark56. I've watched it and will get properly set up tomorrow. I really want to encourage them to stay around.

  • It's the common blackbird, the ones with the orange beak. Very noisy but beautiful bird. Every morning and evening I just pick it up with a shovel before the kids play in the garden.
