RMV

Peter520Peter520 Posts: 2

I have 8 hitherto healthy and mature climbing roses. They are all now showing signs of Rose Mosaic Virus (yellow mottling of the leaves). This is clearly not a root stock problem. Could it be caused by spraying with last year's Roseclear? Could it be pollination? Could it be weather? And what can I do about it, if anything?

I singled out rootstock only because my understanding is that the cause of RMV is usually in the rootstock. I dismissed it because the roses have been healthy for years. I was not aware that RMV specifically could be transmitted by sap-suckers so that's helpful. It remains a puzzle that all of the roses have gone down with it at the same time.

Yeah..I seem to have got it!
