Iris foetidissima? Purple/lilac flowers in late spring and then red berries in autumn and winter.

In the sticks near Peterborough
Thank you Obelixx and nutcutlet. It does indeed look like this. I'm not aware of ever buying or receiving this plant as a gift but it looks exactly like an Iris foetidissima which I'd never heard of. The photo was taken in April 2 years ago but the berries were old from the autumn before. At the moment it is just the sword like green leaves so maybe the berries from last autumn got eaten. Great to know what it was as it looks a little poisonous but I think it's okay to leave.
