Help identify this weed
I have been trying to get rid of this invasive weed for months to no avail. It pops up in the grass and also in my flower bed.
The real trouble is the root system is all interconnected underground and breaks apart easily making pulling it impossible. It just spreads more and more.
I have tried searching pictures online but I can't identify it to then figure out how to kill it. Any help is appreciated.

docks. Cut off the seed head ASAP.
If you want the organic approach, dig them up. In light sandy soil it's not too bad, in clay , it's a nightmare.
I'd rub some glyphosate gel onto the leaves
I agree with Hostafan on all counts. There is a long tap root. I dig them out over and over again. Any bit of root left, it will regenerate. Paint regrowth with glyphosate gel.
They do not usually survive mowing twice a week.
