Mother and daughter both doing well.....

I sowed some open pollenated seeds from the blue clematis H F Young a few years ago, this is one of the seedlings just flowering.

    The youngster in the previous post is labelled  xHFYoung23, previous flowers  xHFYoung3, picture taken 26/4/2014 and xHFYoung12, 18/5/2013, show the very different flower forms from one batch of seeds.

    I love those subtle bars on the offspring 23 and the form of no 3.  Not sure about the pinky one.

    Extraordinary range.   I shall start sowing seeds now and see what I get.

    Absolutely beautiful!

    Isn't it EXCITING sowing seed and getting all these variations!

    Although I can never resist taking cuttings of plants to reproduce identical babies, I always get more of a  thrill when seedlings flower and look different to their parents.
