5 week old tomato plant leaf problem
Hi everyone, first ever post on here and first ever time trying to grow tomatoes (or anything for that matter).
Recently potted up the tomato seedlings and whilst i done that i had them outside for maybe an hour or so on a fairly sunny day.
Anyway not a couple of my tomato seedlings have developed a cream/beige discolouring on some of the leaves. I am going to try and post a picture and really hoping someone can help.
I normally keep the plants on the window ledge south facing and i open the window from time to time to get a bit of air flowing. Anyway really would appreciate any help in regards to what the problem may be.
Please and thanks.
Jamie

they have got burned by leaving water on the leaves in bright sunlight (or just really bright sunlight on its own), they'll be fine, but try and water the compost and not the plants as wet plants can get fungal problems
Thanks very much for getting back to me
That makes sense because i did water them and endwd up with a bit of water on the leaves and it has been unusually sunny in scotland recently!
Thanks very much.
Appreciate the help

Perhaps it could also have been the feeding of liquid seaweed extract. I diluted it down but maybe not enough. Could this burn the plants? If so can anything be done ?
They shouldn't be fed until the first baby tomatoes have set.
Far too cold for them to be outside at the stage they're at too, Jamie.
If you're up here in Scotland - you'll really have to grow them undercover. They're unlikely to do well at all outside. We don't have consistently high enough temps in summer.
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
Thanks very much folks i appreciate the help. I thought maybe feeding them with seaweed extract could have done them some good at this stage but ill probably stop that now. Thanks for the advice.
Yeh im just outside glasgow and we dont even rewlly get a sunmer! Do you think itll be too cold to grow them in a greenhouse ? Should i get a heater for inside maybe?
Thanks again everyone appreciate the help
Jamie
Apologies, just to clarify i only had them outside for maybe 1.5 hours or so while i was potting them up. They all sit inside on the window ledge and they have been grown inside from the start. My intention was to bring them on inside then gradually harden them off and then put them in the greenhouse eventually.
Thanks again
Jamie
No need for heaters Jamie. Greenhouse will be fine. If it's a plastic one - you'll need to pay more attention though, as the temps fluctuate far more than in a proper one. Ventilation is key, and a bit of shading - should it get hot enough
I'm just outside Glasgow too - south and west

Thanks for the advice again, much appreciated. It's a glass greenhouse so hopefully it'll be okay
we were forecast some unusually cold weather there, snow predictions etc but it didn't seem to materialise. I am in East Kilbride.
All the best, and thanks again.
