Clematis Montana

This year our Montana has decided to flower only on one side of the plant, Has anyone experienced this before? Is there anything we can do so that it flowers fully again next year.

    Feed it some slow release clematis food  to help it build flowering strength for next year and give it a tonic now of liquid tomato food.  Repeat every spring.
