Ants in Compost

I've just emptied my compost bin and mixed some of it with last years compost. It's got ants in it. Can I use this in my pots or do I need to wait until they've all gone by using ant powder

It'll be fine to use.  Don't use ant powder - it's an indiscriminate insecticide.  Ants are probably in your compost because it's too dry and not turned often enough - keep it slightly damp and turned regularly and they'll go and live elsewhere.

Thank you-Just sieved the rest of the compost and no ants. They must've been in old compost I emptied from the pot.
