My garden is full of plants, originally from Parkers, could afford anthing else, I originally had those plugs,or ones similar,  I'm happy with a big root system like that, I just carefully unfurl the roots, they will unfold, them pot up for a month, plant out, and they will flower this year.  They are cheap and cheerful, depends on how far you want to go to tend them. Make sure if they are in a tea bag material that you remove it all.

In a month they will look altogether different, the roots will have filled the pot. I couldn't possible have bought single potted plants for here when I first moved In.

For the past couple of years I've been splitting them yet again and giving them away.

Back on 14 March 2008 I ordered plants from JP. They never arrived.
I called them and explained they had not arrived. The 'lady' I spoke with told me that the order had been delivered and that there was no way I'd get a refund.
I wrote the letter below to JP and received a full refund within days.

    Breach of Contract

    Dear Sir/Madam

I placed an order for plants last summer on the understanding that they would be delivered at the right time of year for planting.

On Monday this week I called to ask when they would be delivered and was told that they had been delivered on 3rd December 2007.

I have not received the plants I ordered.

I am making time of the essence for this contract and request that the plants be delivered within the next 10 working days.

Please reply within the next 7 days.

    Yours faithfully,

    Billericay - Essex

  • If they have a twitter feed then use it to voice your opinions.  Very very powerful these days.  Or you can email them and put a link to this thread and advise them you are going to continue to keep the thread open.  If there is one thing I have learnt about good gardeners - they are persistent and patient.

Perhaps those plants were ones returned to them by another dissatisfied customer! image

I would not have been pleased to receive those plants.

Here's an update to the plants that were received.  4 were planted in open ground and the other 2 in pots.  Five are looking good, the spindly shoots having been overtaken by new growth. Just one potted one hasn't come to much, but we're still hopeful. It looks like they had continued to grow in Parker's cold storage but hadn't received sufficient light.  Anyway, here's a couple of photos to show their current condition.  At least they seem immune to slugs!

They have turned into lovely little Polemoniums, they will flower later this year.  I'd plant them out soon.

I always find that with Parkers, just give them TLC for a little while and they will be fine. A plant like that would cost a few pounds in a GC,  in fact ours sell perennials 3 for £10.00. Who'd pay that!!!

Parkers are cheap when you buy their offers, which I only ever do.

    I wouldn't even think about buying for T & M though.

Do make sure they don't have the tea bag stuff on them, I don't think Parkers use that anyway.
