Plant identification

Hi there,

I'm a relative newbie to gardening and forayed into the world of T&M bumper pack offers. Got myself 72 perennial plugs which arrived to my parents home and were promptly removed from their packaging by my dad. Sadly he didn't realise the trays were numbered / indexed for identification. So I have potted them on and done my best at ID'ing with the help of good old google, but I've got 4 types left that I just cannot ID  for the life of me image.

I'm sure you knowledgeable lot can save me from this rookie error. Attached is a picture of the 4 plant types. I think they are echinacea purpurae, carnation ever blooming mix, erigerone stallone and armeria sea drift.

However, there's always a chance that I've ID'd the other 8 varieties wrong image so the other plants that were in the mix are lavender hidcote, foxglove, verbena, scabiosa, aquilegia, geum, delphinium pacific giants and coreopsis.

I would be so grateful for any help, you don't want to know how many hours I've spent trying to figure it out myself!!

Thanks

others are much better than me at this, but to start you off back right I'm pretty sure is erigeron. That's what mine look like anyway.

definitely none of those are lavender, foxglove, aquilegia or delphinium - all have distinctive leaves. If the verbena is bonariensis then that's definitely not there either - also very distinctive.

Beyond that you need to wait for one of the ID champs to come along - they'll be here soon. I'm basically just keeping your thread up the list so they spot it image

I think rear left is armeria and front left is carnation.

    Hi Erasha,

    Back left is Armeria.

    Front left is Dianthus (carnation).

Back right is Erigeron as Raisingirl has said.

    Front right is Geum.

    Happy planting!

  • I got this pack. Cracking little plants. I would agree with the id's but for front right. My scabiosa looks like that. The Geums are hairy leaved while the scabiosa are smooth so you can tell that way.

Am I the only one who sees a pansy front right?

Thanks so much everyone for all the responses so far, so helpful!! The only one I am still a bit dubious about is the bottom right. I'll post what I thought was the geum below, it's ever so slightly different. Floraltips glad to hear you had a good experience! I'm really excited to see how they come along, the plugs have really great dense roots! But I've identified one that looks more like scabiosa to me than this one. Equally I haven't got any that look like Echinacea image maybe they've swapped them for pansies DimWit!

This last one is probably a geum- looks like my seedlings anyway. But in the first picture, there´s a pansy!
