Rhubarb rhizome accident
Hi folks
Clearing some weeds and a clumsy lunge with the spade severed the large rhizome from my timperly rhubarb plant.
The rhizome was quite large - about a foot long and as thick as my forearm.
Most of the rhizome is in the severed section with the rest still attached to the rhubarb plant
Is this a disaster or an opportunity to create another rhubarb plant?
Thanks

I don't think it'll grow unless it's got a bit of the 'growing point'. ... But I might be wrong ... Plant it and see.
And if you've removed a large part of the root I wouldn't take any more stems from your rhubarb this year. Give it some FB&B, water and mulch well and make sure it doesn't dry out this summer.
