The birds seem to be digging out these all over the place - anyone know if they're eggs or what kind of eggs they are?

Look like slug eggs, got rid of a load out of my cold frame today which had some empty pots with labels in them where cuttings used to be!
I had a glut of blackfly/greenfly one year then a swarm of ladybirds the next year. Been here 3 years and neither seem to be prolific this year.
Might just have been lucky.

Ha, yes of course. I've seen a few ladybirds but as you say, bit early yet.

Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
