    white poplar leaves are lobed and white underneath but I can't see enough here to ID. with shiny leaves like that it could be one of the poplars but I can't see a leaf shape. Does it have catkins before the leaves or give off any scent from the leaves/buds

    I don't think its a white poplar, as the bark is too dark. Could be black poplar though?
