    no 15 litres

    OK, 15 litres per plant - that's better for some of the bigger ones, but too big for the smaller ones.  It's not good for plants to be over-potted - the soil becomes sour.

    Perhaps it would have been more accurate to say 'hates root disturbance'  ... if you're growing in modules the roots may not notice when they've been transplanted ... but that's not always easy for a novice.

    They'll probably end up in bigger pots for the herb shelf by the back door Dove. I haven't the space for a proper herb garden.

    The seeds are cheap enough to try again if I fail the first time.

    That's what I keep telling myself anyway image

    Thanks Philippa , for the advice and I hope all goes well , apart from the unpredictable English weather.

    One question though should I put some potting grit at the top surface of each herb to prevent weeds and slugs
