Broken Gladiolus a lost cause?

I am a novice to gardening, but this spring I thought I would try a small cutting garden.  I started some gladioli inside several weeks ago and they are all about a foot high now.  Today I was transferring them outside when the wind knocked over one of my planters and snapped the leaves off of one of the plants just above the bulb.  Is there a chance it will recover this season or the next if I plant it anyways?

  • Plant it anyway, it may send up another but if it does not the chances are it will recover next year :)

Do you have stakes? Wilco do cheap ones for flowers, something like 10 for a pound.

Get a bag to plant straight into the soil. You can plant gladioli up until the end of May. At the best you will have a succession of flowers. At worst, you will have some in September.

Thanks I'll do that!  I staked the rest when I put them outside today so hopefully the others are safe now :)
