Shrivelled tulip flowers

Can anyone tell me what is wrong with these. They were glorious last year but have not really developed properly and just gone wrinkly. They were a special variety that I sent for from Holland for my daughter and myself and hers have gone the same. I fed them well a few times after last years flowering.

Tulips don't udually come back properly if you leave them in the pot. They need to be taken out, stored and replanted every autumn. I don't bother with them for this reason!
