Please tell me the name of this tree

Hi all

My husband is a postman and delivers to a relatively poor area in our city but tells me this beautiful tree gladens his heart on his round

Can you let me know what it is - many thanks experts

Its hard to tell from the the picture but it could be a cherry or a crab apple tree.

It's gorgeous, looks like a cherry to me, but there are lots of different sorts, edible and ornamental.

Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
  • Could it be hawthorn?

Ask your hubby to get a close-up of the flowers and any foliage opening out and also a bit of stem.  That'll help identify it.

Here are two photos, cherry has oval leaves, hawthorn has lobed leaves.
