Budleia shrivelling leaves

My grandson's budleia are all dying back as per photo. He's asked for my help. I don't have a clue! Can anyone help, please?

This is quite normal for buddleias as they are semi evergreen, especially if they are left unprinted.  They are probably the remains of last years leaves. As it it sprouting well there is nothing to worry about.

It will be fine, cut that piece right out as far down as you can go.
