    Got this clematis pitcheri from a pal in Chicago, it grows wild in Illinois.

    Spectacular! There is something a little 'alien' about the seedheads too.

    imageimageat one time I had one of each in my yard. The purple flowering one is still there but the white flowering one I took out was a good size. I think that's the one still germinating 

  • I think so, too, Brian, the coloured clematis looks like Ville de Lyon.

    Thank you Richard. So best defense is spray Roundup carefully on each plant one by one?

    #Yes, I agree, also, the seedheads are huge in comparison to the flower size
