Wilting buddleias

Hello, does anyone else have wilting buddleia today? Wondered if it was because there was a frost last night, although it seems to have been the older leaves rather than new growth that is affected.

I have five of them, all in different parts of the garden. Two are a bit droopy, like thisimage

...and two are really bad, like thisimage

The one out the front is healthy and beautiful!

We had rain over the weekend and I gave them a big drink this morning so they can't be thirsty...

I thought this plant was impossible to kill!

Elspeth. they should be cut well back in the spring and they will rapidly put on new growth.  This prevents them becoming woody and bare at the bottom.

It might be a little droopy after tonight's predicted frost but it will soon recover.

I take mine down as low as I can get them, almost to the ground if possible, they shoot out and make a lovely bush shape.

  • I hope so, we were quite harsh with them!image
