Salvia Amistad and Love and Wishes

AngieRAngieR Posts: 347

I stupidly/hurriedly put my Salvia cuttings in the greenhouse (cold) last night rather than bring them back indoors!!!  To say I am annoyed with myself is a bit of an understatement!  I left it too late in the year to get plenty of cuttings and 2 of each are all that took over winter.  Note to self - pay more attention!  In case you can't tell we had a bit of a frost this morning.

This is how S. Amistad looks this lunchtime, with Love and Wishes looking no better.  Will they recover or have I completely lost them through my neglect?  Would I be better to snip out the tips back to some stronger smaller leaves further down the stems?  Or any other advice please? Thanks in advance.

Watch and wait would be my advice.

Seems you are right punkdoc. Sitting out in the sun has perked them right back up.... I panicked too soon!

I tried Love and Wishes at the bottom of my garden last year which is on a slope down to a fence. I think it is probably  a frost pocket there. To be fair it was known to not be reliably hardy.
