    kerria japonica flore pleno.

Cut old stems to the ground after flowering ( you'll see young shoots coming up)

    Devon.
  • Thanks for quick response.  I found it in a park.

If you want one, it can become a bit of a thud due to suckering. Keep on top of it and it's fine .

I've got one but it's very 'floppy'.  It adds a lovely splash of colour in spring but I tolerate it only because it's planted behind bushy shrubs which hold it upright quite neatly.  I wouldn't plant one as  'stand-alone', I like my garden tidy !

There are a few shrubs around that I really don't like and that's one of them image

    In the sticks near Peterborough

Forsythia is worse. Garish blossom for a few weeks and boring leaves the rest of the year.

And there's that fuzzy pink thing that I refuse to remember the name of.

And ceanothus is just plain creepy.

    In London. Keen but lazy.
