Ideas to weigh down weed blackout
Hello all, I am looking for ideas please to weigh down breathable, porous blackout membrane for weed cover. I have a large patch of about 100 square metres. Ultimately I want to plant it up with soft fruit bushes and trees and have a series of paths in between rows. For the past few months the blackout has been held down roughly with old timbers, we've rotovated it today and now I'd like to put the blackout down permanently. My plan is then to cut crosses where I want to plant bushes in rows. But what will I use to weigh down the blackout? I had thought wood chip but given the size of the plot think that's going to cost too much.
does anyone have any thrifty ideas?
thanks

I've got a more manageable 40ft x 6ft and I got these -

Not sure how practical it would be for your purposes, but nothing else springs to mind atm

Knowledge is knowing that a tomato is a fruit.
Wisdom is not putting it in a fruit salad.
Most garden cenres and DIY stores that sell this should have U shaped metal pins or flat topped, 4 to 6 inch plastic pegs to hammer in and hold it down - or you could make your own from old wire clothes hangers.
If you're using heavy duty membrane then pegging it down should do the job. That won't work with the lighter weight 'fabric' as it will tear.
oh dear that's a shame, the pegs were img like a great idea. It is the lightweight fabric I've got.
*sounding not img!
I've used these ....
