Mine looks exactly like that right now Ron, as I've just applied a weed and feed. I'll rake out the dead moss and cut the grass as soon as it dries up a bit.
I sometimes feed only in spring and then do a weed and feed a month later. It means the weeds are stronger for the weedkiller bit to take effect. My front grass is poorer because of the aspect and it tends to be mainly moss by this time of year.
It is quite hard not to overapply the granular stuff - not that I ever do that of course....
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
