We have this plant or weed that is totally taking over our garden! It has purple flowers in autumn! What is it and what is the best way to get rid of it?

One of the asters, Michaelmas Daisies, I should think. A lot of them are very weedy and invasive

Brute force and ignorance is what I use. Big Fork, big spade, maybe a mattock
