What tree is this?

Any help greatly appreciated - I've been wondering this for many years. A friend thought it to be a type of Berberis but wasn't sure.

They look like orange/yellow daffodill flowers growing up in a tree. I have never seen the like.

I would say darwinii is the more orange.

But the leaves of these two are different so if we could see the leaves clearly, no problem
