Greenhouse

This is my first time trying to grow things in a greenhouse. Is it used only to start plants to growing? I have some seeds i put in the frig to germinate, can i put them in a starter pot and put them in the greenhouse?

Secoind question first! Check the seed packet. Some seeds that need a cold period to germinate are ok at normal spring temperatures, such as many UK wildflowers. Others need a jump to a higher temp. that might not be sustainable in an unheated GH at this time of year, with often cold nights and cool as well as warm days. These seeds will need to be kept indoors on a light windowsill for longer. and can then transfer to the GH when they are growing well.

The GH can be used for lots of things. It can house seedlings and cuttings, be used for tender plants that would struggle outside in the UK climate, grow tomatoes and other veg in more protected conditions for better crops and house plants from the garden that are not frost hardy over winter.

So my GH currently has overwintering shrubby salvias and lots of Agapanthus, pots of fuchsias and pelargoniums, a tender jasmine growing up the back wall, loads of cuttings and young plants growing on, and onion sets in modules. Seedlings are still indoors in the propagator or on windowsills, but some will go out there in a day or two. Some plants that were in GH are now outside hardening off.

Oh, and there is a rocking chair for me to sit on and enjoy it allimage
