Spacing M106 rootstock

I'm getting conflicting internet advice. How far away from the boundary and each other should they be planted so they don't overhang the pavement?

I'm also planning on keeping them as small as I can but I'm not sure how far back they can be pruned - the rootstock choice was out of necessity because of the soil and wind.

I think I have enough space for three apple trees and a cherry tree in the front but I'd best check before planting :)

  • I have ordered Spartan, tydemans's late orange, Golden delicious and Cornish aromatic.  Also a prunus Royal burgundy on Colt stock. The last one is because I need one large tree to hide some Very ugly.  my problem is that I can't find information on specific  trees, although there was a hint in a description that says the Tydemans grows larger than most.

  • Ah that's perfect thank you, trees going upwards are not a problem, it's keeping them out of easy scrumping distance that is :)

  • Looking at the pictures the golden delicious may be better to hide the ugly  the front  with the cherry tree in the back garden.

noting for later so I don't forget.  GD in old drive space, Spartan and Tydemans along the front, Cornish behind them.
