Veg Question

What are the easiest Veg to Grow , I have pebbly soil and quite a shady garden thanks to the trees.

Would it be worth getting a raised bed with compost to position somewhere on my patio which  has at least some sunlight.

I appreciate your thoughts

Swiss chard doesn't mind a bit of shade, but it will need watering if the soil is dry because of the trees.

Dwarf French beans are pretty easy to grow too, and don't mind a bit of shade ... again they'll need watering if the soil is very dry.

You could grow 'cut and come again' salad stuff in a raised bed on the patio which should keep you supplied all summer without too much effort.

All the things you mention are in the soil for a long time.  If I were you I would take Dove's advice and grow things which are quick to give results.
