What is this plant?

The flowers are only about 2 inches across max. and the lady who grew it says it has leaves similar to tulips but wider.image

    Snap Fairy, Trout lilly is the common name for Erythronium Sandy.

    Thanks for the name. I've now read up on it and it doesn't seem to be the easiest thing to grow, but is so exquisite, it's worth a try.

    Would it work growing them in a container to help protect from slugs I wonder?
