Reusing old compost with artificial fertlizer

Can I reuse old compost while just Using artifiical fertlizer

    Yes, but use it for different plants. E.g. do not use it for tomatoes two years running. I use my old tomato compost to grow the next years spring bulbs.

    My old compost goes on the beds as a mulch or in my compost boxes and new plants get new compost. By the time your old compost is done any goodness will have long been leached out, why risk new plants when compost can be bought by the bag for what you will pay for the various fertilisers you need to bring it back to life.

    I  use it fior bulbs year two and then spread it about the garden to improve clay soil.

    In London. Keen but lazy.
