Harvesting Rhubarb

I visited a friend in February who uprooted a rhubarb plant for me to take home. I transplanted the plant into wilko's potato grow bag.

I plan to transfer plant once it dies back to a permanent ground. Can I harvest this year or do I need to leave it alone in the first year?

I agree with Scroggin - dont take any crop this year or next. Let it establish properly and reap the benefit in the future. Don't let it dry out.

Thank you for your advice, I will leave the plant alone
