Backyard Power Options (Rain/Snow Proof)
I am building a patio in my backyard which goes the length of the house (from fence to fence). This is a good opportunity for me to run some sort of power to both sides for future use (BBQ, Lighting etc.).
I don't know how to properly wire an electrical junction box however I currently have one of those weather proof electrical outlets attached to the back of my house.
I was thinking of running extension cables from the existing electrical box, underneath the patio to both sides of the fence. Then have some sort of weather proof box to hold a power bar.
What I would really like is one complete unit but I can't find it (if it exists). For example a weather proof electrical box with a long cable (10-20ft).
Can anyone suggestion something better or a product that would help?
Note: The solution would need to be rain/snow proof for items connected to it all year round.

Any electrical work especially outside needs to be done by a certified electrician. the best thing to do is contact your local council
Colin is right...all works need to be carried out by a certified electrician.
I believe that any cables that are going to be buried have to be
1. Armoured
2. Buried to a depth of at least 50cm and back filled with sand
3. Marked out with the appropriate signage.
The days of just running a cable under the patio / garden are long gone.
I'm in Canada. Thanks for your advice! I wont be burying any cables.
I'll just run an extension cord to my BBQ.
Don't know about Canada but here, in the UK, electrical installations have to be carried out by a competent person and then inspected and certified by a qualified electrician at the very least. No electrician I know would even consider certifying an installation that involved an extension cable in situ permanently.
Consult an electrical contractor would be my advice.
