Which lawn weed is this?

I have a large 'fairy circle' on my (ex common land) lawn with this weed in it. Can anyone identitfy and suggest treatment please?               image

    one of the sedges I think. Usually damp ground plants so improving drainage might help

    Brilliant, thanks, nutcutlet. Looks a bit like bottlebrush sedge now i am closer to the ident! Any known weed control other than drainage, and it is not a particularly wet area?

    Not sure that there's a weedkiller that would kill sedge without killing grass

    Fantastic response, all, many thanks. Not able to confirm i/d but have given it a drink of Verdone/Weedol to see what happens.
