Marvel of Peru bulbs

Good evening,

I was sent some free bulbs of the above variety, last year. I planted them, got some foliage but no  flowers.

I have since cut them back as they had died but am unsure if they will grow again as there were limited notes with the bulbs. Online i says they're perennials grown as annuals. No sign of life in the pot, wondering if I should dig out the bulbs and put something else in there?

Anyone with advice on these please?

Thanks!!

They're perennials but not bulbs, they have a tuberous root which can be stored over winter like dahlias. They come through mild winters in the garden but are so slow to start it's not worth bothering with. They're so quick and easy from seed, I save seed and start afresh. But I haven't grown them lately, too much not terribly attractive leaf and not enough flower. Though they do smell nice

  • Ahhh thank you so much!

I wasn't sure what to do with them, well looks like I will use the pot for something else then.

    Thanks again image

  • So I'm thinking of planting a  gerbera with some fuschias in the said pot, diameter is 18".

Will this work nutcutlet, or will they outgrow the pot as see they spread?

I'm sure someone can help Metalmama but gerberas and the like are not something I know about image
