What are these and how do i get rid of them?

imageI have these all along my garden but want just grass there any help would be much appreciated as I am a complete novice.

    Looks like crocosmia.  You can dig it out but will probably end up missing some corms.  It's a bit of a devil to get rid of.

    Spreading and weighting down  black bin liners over them may help but crocosmia are  coms so it may only get rid of the green.

    Others may have better ideas..

    Bin liners won't work with crocosmia - dig them up this year - next year dig up any that you missed this year, the year after do the same.

    After that you'll have got rid of most of them, but the occasional one will pop up ... however, if you're mowing the grass regularly that should stop them causing a problem.
